Member Spotlight: Miss Koco and Beth Richey at Mew Gallery

Two of our members have cool things happening at Mew Gallery this month!

Miss Koco is offering a series of Upcycling Workshops at Mew. Upcycling, in case you don’t know, is sort of like recycling, but actually turning the materials into something of greater value. One workshop occurred yesterday (May 12). It was about using junkmail to create one of a kind journals and stationery. She has some of these paper upcycled items for sale in her Etsy shop – what a clever reuse of old menus!
If you missed it, you’re in luck- there’s another workshop on Tuesday May 26, from 6pm to 8pm. This one will show participants how to create fabulous denim jewelry from those old jeans that everyone has hidden at the back of the closet.

Also at Mew this month, Beth Richey has created a beautiful window display featuring her terrariums.  Beth also creates beautiful healing gemstone jewelry and creative and recycled refrigerator art. Sorry, don’t have any pictures yet of her terrariums so here’s one of her magnets!

Also of interest at Mew is a group exhibit HAND DID, curated by John Freeborn, cofounder of hand-did-invite-lrgSpace 1026.
