Philadelphia March events and updates

After being on vacation for a little over a week, I feel like I have missed a lot! I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of things and sift through all the emails from Handmade Philly and search through Facebook to locate events, workshops and craft fairs. So here is what I have compiled together for events in March as well as an updated craft fair listing. If you know of anything that I have not listed, please feel free to email me at lisahwang1@gmail.com.

EVENTS AROUND PHILADELPHIA

FIRST FRIDAY EVENTS, Friday, March 5th

Piranha Betty’s presents artwork from David Aronson, 6pm – 12am, 2472 Frankford Ave, Fishtown, Philadelphia

F&N Gallery presents landscape photography of Neal Jordan, 6-9pm, 2007 Frankford Ave, Fishtown, Philadelphia

Neal attributes his work to Ansel Adams’ landscapes and Joseph Mallord Willam Turner’s skies. The romantic landscapes that they portrayed, as well as the radical sky scapes allude to the moments of beauty and change of the times. Neal’s work visually responds to the same notion of how we see the details in our environment.

Bambi Gallery presents Gillian Pears “Still” in the main gallery and Linda Guenste “Fun with…” in the project gallery 6-10pm, Bambi Gallery, 1001 North 2nd St (in the Piazza), N. Liberties, Philadelphia

A Collection of upcoming Events, Workshops, Craft Fairs

I am a fairly new member to the Philadelphia Arts and Crafting community (a little over 4 months) and finding my way around to what’s going on has been overwhelming because there is SO much going on in the city of Philadelphia and beyond. Keeping track of everything has been cumbersome. I have a full time telecommuting job, I am the mother of a teenaged son who has me chauffeuring him around chasing his pro golf dreams, and I care for 3 lovable dogs. I have found a lot of information through Facebook but even so, not having it in one place, I lose track and miss things. I am a list person so keeping a list of events, workshops and craft fairs in order of date helps keep me sane. I will do a bi-monthly blog listing information that I have found to share with the team and blog about any events that I do attend. I hope you will find this useful. If you know of anything that I have not listed, please feel free to email me at lisahwang1@gmail.com.
